Choices Decisions Outcomes

"Choices Decisions Outcomes" is presented to secondary school age youth aged between 12-18 years, at four different levels, correlating to the first 4 years of secondary school. The program is presented to one class at a time and runs for approx two sessions with trained presenters from Pregnancy Help Geelong facilitating small group workshops.

The program uses a variety of innovative activities, in an informal setting where students feel comfortable to be involved in discussion, ask questions and share their opinions.

The year 7 program endeavours to build self-esteem and instils an appreciation of the human person as a unique individual thus developing a greater sense of self-value, self worth, personal respect and respect for others.

Year 8 program focuses on friendships.  Students are encouraged to look at expectations and qualities within friendships in addition to the identification and decision on the reality of peer pressure and popular culture.

Year 9 students are introduced to a decision–making model and encouraged to realize there is a choice to be made rather than drifting into a sexual relationship.

Year 10 students look at the many facets of a healthy relationship and discuss the consequences of a sexual relationship which challenges them to look at their own attitudes regarding sex and the consequences their decisions will have on their future.
